About the firm
A specialist crypto licensing firm — not a general law firm that ‟also handles crypto.”
We work exclusively on digital-asset regulation, licensing and compliance. Across 17 jurisdictions, with one project manager, and a refusal to sell engagements that do not fit the client.
Our story
Founded by Magic-Circle alumni who got tired of crypto being a side practice.
The firm was founded in 2018 by a Magic-Circle alumnus and an in-house crypto-exchange general counsel. The opening view was simple: crypto licensing is its own discipline. It is not a junior-counsel rotation inside a larger banking practice, and clients increasingly stopped accepting it as one. Eight years later, the firm is fifteen-jurisdiction-deep with five anchor partners and thirty specialists across five offices.
What we are: a specialist legal infrastructure firm for crypto licensing, tokenization and compliance. What we are not: a general law firm with a sidekick crypto desk, a brokerage that ‟arranges” licences, or a marketing-led ready-made-licence seller. The distinction matters because the regulators we deal with — VARA, FCA, MAS, SFC, FINMA, NYDFS — assess applicants against working knowledge of their actual rulebooks, not against polished pitch decks.
What we do
We obtain crypto licenses in 17+ jurisdictions, design AML/KYC programmes that survive examination, classify tokens against multiple securities-law frameworks, build foundation and SPV structures for token issuers, secure banking and payment rails post-authorisation, and run year-one supervision for retainer clients. The work is end-to-end. The same team that scopes the engagement runs the year-one audit cycle.
Our values — what they mean in practice
- Honest assessment first. If a project does not fit the jurisdiction, we say so — even if it costs us the fee;
- One licence is rarely enough. Real operators run multi-jurisdictional structures from day one. We plan two-to-three years out, not one engagement at a time;
- Substance over shells. We do not help build paper companies that collapse on the first regulator audit. Substance is non-cosmetic;
- No general advice. Every recommendation is anchored in current rulebook, not last year’s blog post or a competitor’s marketing sheet.
